In Camalot

Here is the first peek from Starz upcoming series CAMELOT with Joseph Fiennes (FlashForward)playing Merlin.
It’s a bit shocking at first to see Fiennes without his mop of hair, but when you think about it, Camelot does well to take its own spin with the character. We’re far from the look Nicol Williamson sported in that 1981 John Boorman movie Excalibur and from Colin Morgan’s own appearance as the young wizard in Merlin. And that’s definitely a good thing.
Speaking about Merlin, Fiennes told irishcentral that:
“He is more of a warrior monk and less of a Zen Obi-Wan Gandalf. I think there’s a duality with Merlin … he fights fire with fire; he drives out a nail with another nail. He doesn’t turn the other cheek. I don’t think Merlin is a villain, but he is far from driven snow. I think he is full of Machiavellian machinations. There’s an element of Willy Wonka, Donald Rumsfeld and Obi-Wan to him.”

  • Outcasts

The first pictures from the upcoming BBC sci-fi series—starring BSG’s Jamie Bamber—are here. The series claims to be a cross between Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek.
A show about a group of individuals building a new life on another planet called Carpathia, OUTCASTS also stars Ugly Betty’s Eric Mabius and Spook’s (MI-5 in the U.S.) Hermione Norris. When the series starts, the small band of pioneers will have lost contract with Earth and have to face all sorts of as-yet-undisclosed mysteries.
With Bamber, Mabius and Norris on board, OUTCASTS will definitely be worth a look come December, when the eight-part series airs on BBC America.

  • Smallville Family Reunion

According to TV Guide reports, Lois (Erica Durance) is in for a family visit! General Lane (Michael Ironside) and Lois’s sister, Lucy Lane (Peyton List) will return to SMALLVILLE in an episode to air in late October.
This will mark the first time we’ve seen all three Lanes together, though the General and Lucy appeared in separate episodes during Season 4.
Ironside is no stranger to the Superman franchise. He was the voice of Darkseid, Season 10′s big bad, in two DC universe animated series. Since her 2005 appearance on SMALLVILLE, List has made a splash in FLASH FORWARD and MAD MEN.
In the comic book series, the General works for Lex Luthor. Could his appearance foreshadow Lex’s return? According to Michael Rosenbaum’s Twitter account, he’s been busy filming a part in the upcoming Bruce Willis movie, “Catch 44.” “Filming with the great Forest Whitaker now. He’s awesome. Wow. Fun times!!” he tweets.
